Procedures

Whether your dental needs are a complete exam and cleaning, a full-mouth restoration, or anything in between, we promise to provide you with exceptional care as we enhance the natural beauty of your smile.  Below are just some of the many procedures and services we regularly provide to our patients – with a gentle touch, and stunning results.  Your smile is our first priority, and we’ll give you something to smile about.

A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist at your initial dental visit.

Teeth Cleaning - A dental prophylaxis is a cleaning procedure performed to thoroughly clean the teeth.  Prophylaxis is an important dental treatment for halting the progression of periodontal disease and gingivitis.

Oral Exam - The oral cancer examination is a completely painless process. During bi-annual check-ups, the dentist and hygienist will thoroughly look for changes and lesions in the mouth, but a dedicated comprehensive oral cancer screening should be performed at least once each year.

Dental X-rays - Dental X-rays are essential, preventative, diagnostic tools that provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam.

Dental Anxiety and Fear - The overwhelming fear of dental appointments can be a common cause of anxiety.  The staff at the practice will do whatever they can to reduce anxiety, allay fears, and provide painless, quick treatments.

Should your teeth ever require a restorative treatment, you can rest assured knowing we will always discuss with you the available options, and recommend what we believe to be the most comfortable and least invasive treatment.  Providing you with excellent care is our number one priority when creating your beautiful smile.

Fillings - A composite (tooth colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, etc.  The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite filling.

Crowns - A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface, restoring it to its original shape and size.  A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.

Bridges - A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an excellent way to replace missing teeth. There are several types of bridges.  You and your dentist will discuss the best options for your particular case.

Our office has various services available based on your needs whether it’s root canal treatments to full-mouth reconstruction. Please contact our office with any questions so we can advise you on the most effective treatments.

Periodontics - Because periodontal disease is progressive, it is essential to remove the bacteria and calculus build up to halt the spread of the infection.  Your dentist will be happy to advise you on effective cleaning methods and treatment options.

Endodontics - Endodontic treatment (or root canal therapy) is performed to save the natural tooth.

We all realize that having a healthy, bright, beautiful smile enhances our appearance and allows us to smile with confidence.  Thanks to the advances in modern cosmetic dentistry, we are able to improve our teeth and smiles with quick, painless and surprisingly affordable treatments.

Dental Implants - Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and also provide a fixed solution to having removable partial or complete dentures.

Teeth Whitening - Teeth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.

Veneers - Veneers are very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory.  They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.

Whether it’s traditional braces or custom made removable appliances, orthodontics can help you have the healthy, straight, beautiful smile you’ve been waiting for!

Braces - While having beautiful straight teeth is important, even more important is the need to alleviate any potential health problems associated with the teeth or jaw. If treatment is necessary, we will thoroughly discuss which treatment option is best suited for you!

Retainer - A retainer is a fixed or removable dental appliance which has been custom-made by the orthodontist to fit the teeth. Retainers are generally made from transparent plastic and thin wires to optimize the comfort of the patient.

Invisalign® - Invisalign® offers an almost invisible aligning system that straightens teeth fast and contains no metal.

Malocclusion - A malocclusion is usually treated with dental braces. There are several types of malocclusion including overbite, underbite, crossbite, and overcrowding.

Why Straighten Teeth? - Straighter teeth perform chewing, biting and speaking functions more effectively than crooked teeth.  In addition, a straight smile boosts confidence, is aesthetically pleasing to look at, and can help stave off a wide variety of dental ailments.

Pediatric dentistry (formerly Pedodontics/Paedodontics) primarily focuses on children from birth through adolescence.

First Visit - First visits can be stressful for parents, especially for parents who have dental phobias themselves. That’s why our office takes great care to aim to make the child feel as welcome as possible during all visits.

Good Diet - A child’s general level of health often dictates his or her oral health, and vice versa.  Therefore, supplying children with a well-balanced diet is more likely to produce healthier teeth and gums.

Mouth Guards - Mouth guards, also known as sports guards or athletic mouth protectors, are crucial pieces of equipment for any child participating in potentially injurious recreational or sporting activities.

Teeth Grinding - Bruxism, or the grinding of teeth, is remarkably common in children and adults. It can lead to a wide range of dental problems, depending on the frequency of the behavior, the intensity of the grinding, and the underlying causes of the grinding.

Cavities - Cavities can be incredibly painful and often lead to tooth decay and childhood periodontitis if left untreated. Ensuring that children eat a balanced diet, embarking on a sound home oral care routine, and visiting the pediatric dentist biannually are all crucial factors for both cavity prevention and excellent oral health.

Pulp Therapy - Pediatric pulp therapy is known by several other names, including: root canal, pulpotomy, pulpectomy, and nerve treatment.  The primary goal of pulp therapy is to treat, restore, and save the affected tooth.

While your dental needs will be met when you visit our office, the best way to keep a healthy smile can be done at home.

Home Care - A beautiful, healthy smile that lasts a lifetime is our ultimate goal when treating patients.  Your personal home care plays an important role in achieving that goal.

How to Properly Brush & Floss - Brushing and flossing are of paramount importance to oral hygiene.  Proper brushing and flossing can enhance the health of the mouth, make the smile sparkle, and prevent serious diseases.

Fluoride Treatment - Fluoride is the most effective agent available to help prevent tooth decay.  The benefits of fluoride have been well known for over 50 years and are supported by many health and professional organizations.

Oral Hygiene Aids - There are numerous types of oral hygiene aids on the supermarket shelves, and it can be difficult to determine which will provide the best benefit to your teeth. Our office can help you determine which aids can be helpful for you.

Dental Emergancies

Dental emergencies are quite frightening and often painful.  Prompt treatment is almost always required to alleviate pain and to ensure the teeth have the best possible chance of survival.

Sometimes, teeth become fractured by trauma, grinding, or biting on hard objects.  In other cases, fillings, crowns, and other restorative devices can be damaged or fall out of the mouth completely.  If there is severe pain, it is essential to contact our office immediately.  The pain caused by dental emergencies almost always gets worse without treatment, and dental issues can seriously jeopardize physical health.
